About Us
We are a full-service speech and language company offering both therapy and enrichment opportunities for children. We work with children age 0-21 with a variety of speech and language diagnoses.

We also offer enrichment opportunities for caregivers who want to help their children increase speech and language skills. We provide services conveniently in your home, or at your child’s preschool, private school or another location. Rachel Albert M.S., CCC-SLP
Rachel established Starlight Speech and Language because of a strong belief in providing high quality speech and language therapy in the most natural environment, a child's home, for maximum success.
Rachel is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). To find out more about ASHA certification, please visit here. She is licensed in the state of California as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Rachel earned a Master of Science degree in Bio-Behavioral Sciences from Teachers College at Columbia University in New York, NY.
During graduate school, her training included working at a preschool for children with Autism, a school for the blind, a private practice working with adults with neurogenic disorders and participating in rounds with an inter-disciplinary craniofacial team at Columbia University Medical Center. Rachel has traveled to Ghana, West Africa to assess, evaluate and treat underserved populations. These clients included children and adults with communication disorders due to cleft lip and palate, Downs Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
In 2013, she moved with her family to San Diego, CA from New York City.
Rachel has worked in a variety of settings including pediatric clinics and providing at home early intervention services. Rachel is PROMPT trained (PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) aimed at remediation for individuals with apraxia and speech production disorders. She is also trained by the SoCal BRIDGE Collaborative's early intervention program for children at risk for social communication and related disorders called Project ImPACT.
